10:30... pretty day.  Stayed in through the afternoon, dealt with trash and worked on the laptop.  Rode with Leofwyna to Magmor business meeting and supper at Hu Hot with the gang.  No Gerald tonight, he'll be leaving for a weeks vacation tomorrow.  Leofwyna and I went downstairs and I tried to get the serger threaded... no luck there, the left needle thread will NOT engage.  She ended up on her sewing machine instead and I pressed the colored frip pile so now frips are ready for cutting/stash.  Had trouble getting to sleep for the first time in a great while; ended up getting onto laptop awhile before trying again.

Up and out for lunch on a nice day, then a stop of Joanne's (the fabric I wanted wasn't there but I found a few new ones anyway).  Headed across town to Walt library to spend part of the afternoon on the computer.  I took a break and went to the Apple Goodwill (no purchase) before where I threaded up the loom again (I'd finished the one to trim the green undertunic).  I skipped supper with the others and was home in time to greet Gerald so he could catch a nap before going to work.  I finished the evening downstairs putting together more four-square setts.
Monday I did genealogy in the afternoon and finished the black linen gammura.  Tuesday I did more genealogy in the afternoon, went out to FoodNet* and pressed the basket of cottons for stash.  Looked around for the next task and pulled the TOSB comforter off my bed to replace the binding.

* Bananas, bread, eggs, 5# whole wheat flour, spagetti, cookies and cans of green beans, spagetti sauce and chicken.,
Wednesday after lunch we decided we were in good shape getting ready to go so we went up to Fort Collins for a little while.  I thought we were just going to go to Goodwill and a fabric store we discovered last time.  How wrong I was, Leofwyna found three ARCs to stop at.  We both had some good luck though and only my feet are complaining.  Back at the house after supper we ran dishwasher, laundry (towels) and loaded up everything but the kitchen tote and cooler.  I've packed my bags and brought them upstairs then took a little time to mark the next line on the quilt.  Only one more line after this one!  The question for tomorrow is will there be room for a flat of peaches?

NOTE:  Unfortunately there was no room for anything more.  We left Leofwyna's new fan and a couple puzzles on a high shelf in the garage to use next time we come.
Thursday we headed down to Boulder for a Katmandu lunch and some thrift store visits.  Leofwyna's cellphone went rogue and we had some problems finding the thrift stores.  We did find a Vorizone where Leofwyna was told the phone seemed to have issues.  Really?!?  Neither of us found much at the thrift stores today but a stop at JoAnn's changed that for me as I bought a big bunch of cotton prints I hadn't seen at our own JoAnn's in Lincoln.  We did find the German bakery in Longmont along the way and stocked up on pastries.
Wednesday I filnaly got the replacement screw to secure the leg of the electric skillet and then replaced the battery in my watch.   Upon returning home from social moot and the group supper we carried the pieces of the counter from the garage to the curb, then I spent an hour cleaning up the kitchen.  Thursday we went to visit Maggie, I dealt with my paperwork for the month and washed up a load of new fabric for the quilt stash.
Sunday there was a message from Saturday on the answering machine that a friend was in the hospital due to a serious fall Friday night.  Leofwyna is very close friends with his wife so I knew she'd want to go up to Omaha for her.  Since i couldn't get Leofwyna on the phone (she was sitting with Sammy this weekend) I drove over to get the message to her.  I was right; she headed up to Omaha right away and I took over taking care of Sammy until Monday noon.  I filled my time Sunday getting caught up with laundry.  Monday at the sewing table I 'frippered' some unsuccessful sashing from a set of crazy-pieced blocks, made some necessary repairs and started a parti-sash with neutral 1.25" strips I want to 'go away' so I can fill that drawer with 1.5" strips instead.  I've been watching Bonnie Hunter archived quilt cams and want to make some 'corrections' to my stash system.
Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday I've been out covering the brussel sprouts at night as it's been really cold.  Temperatures are predicted to be good now for another week and with some watering I'm hoping the little buttons have a chance to fill out so I can get a meal or two off these plants before I pull them for the zoo animals.

Wednesday before moot I was talking with Sash and I think I'll be going to Battlemor next August with the apprentice gang to work in the Tailor's booth.  We're having an apprentice weekend this Saturday so more discussion of this no doubt.  Back at home Wednesday I mentioned being in Colorado next August and how about making a vacation out there so maybe Leofwyna'll come out and pick me up for a 'trip'.  (I'm pretty sure she will skip the war camp and just catch me up at the end of it.)

On Ancestry-dot-com I seem to have a problem so work there is slowed until I can get that figured out.  I've been working, instead, on some cutters washing, ironing and cutting.  I have finally cleared the pile of grocery bags full of cutters I had accumulated.  My plastic stacks of drawers are getting full but I need to work through more rough before I begin construction.  And I really need to get focused and look in my stash for purple and gold to get that project begun and completed within the next year as I'm already benefiting from the massages I'm getting in trade for it.
Thursday morning I headed to the store to see what meat special I could find for supper.  I put the rather fatty, boneless pork ribs I found in the crock pot for the day.  In the afternoon I mowed all three sections of the yard since the weather broke down out of the 90s Wednesday and I know it will go back up Friday.  Shelly dropped by for a visit while she was in town so I woke Leofwyna up a little early.  Supper of pork, gravy, rice, corn and a salad with my tomatoes and broccoli was yumchious!  Friday was a lite day with computer and cutters with Leofwyna off to work.
Sunday I got last weeks' branches cut up and cleared from around the compost piles and the raised beds then I ran the weed whacker around all the raised beds so that's all looking considerably better this evening.  I put ground cloth down around the ground cherries and plan to go get the small tomato cages tomorrow to put in before the plants get any bigger.  I want to catch them while they're still going UP, before they start to spread and harden the branches.  My plan is to keep them off the ground so I can see the dropped cherries and get them gathered easier.  Tonight my hands are aching from all the pruner toolwork but I continued ironing the' cutters for the quilt stash.
Saturday I spent recovering from mowing the entire lawn yesterday...  Well, I did wash some of the 'cut' cutters I've been piling up, and ironed three of the loads.
Monday I started cutting down some of the cotton bits for scrappy quilt piecing.  That will be added to the storage bin and won't be worked up until the bin is full.  Leofwyna is doing the odd bits in her room prepratory to painting the ceiling.

Tuesday we got the room divider stripped down to the 2x4s for the electrician coming tomorrow and then Leofwyna painted her bedroom ceiling and continued to do the bathroom and closet ceilings too.  Temendous progress.
Saturday I carried Leofwyna's return package to FedEx.  OMG, that was expensive for 3-day, land delivery!  I stopped in at the south Goodwill and discovered they were having 10 for $10 and found twenty items to pick up although the last three were 'throw-ins' to get the count, also picked up a 1000 recipe cookbook.  I gotta say, I'm missing having a stove and oven.  After eating I stopped in at Menards to get the wool socks Leofwyna told me about; I picked up four pairs.  It is so hard to find good quality wool socks with something more than 15% wool and it seems strange to find them in a hardware store.  Back at home I located the yellow duck pieces harvested from an old sunshade to make new straps for the current Baronial sunshade and got started on that project.

Sunday I finished up the straps, made a travelbag for them and then mended Leofwyna's pillowcases.  I ran across a laundry basket of washed quilt fabric and got it all pressed and folded to go into the stash.  A cold front has come through and I've decided not to go out in it today; I'll make due with what's in the house to do and eat.  Poor Leowyna had to get out and go to work tonight.
Friday I pressed the most recent pile of quilting cottons and then made up this year's apprentice tithe for my Laurel.  Not waiting for the last minute in January like I did last year is a very good thing.
We did get rain Sunday evening, hurrah.

Monday my assignment was to pick up the pendant lamp before the sale ran out and to return the drapery samples.  I put a couple beef roasts in the crock pot with coconut milk and Thai peanut sauce.  Leofwyna had a continuing education class in York so I didn't finish supper preperations; the cooked meat went into the fridge for another night.

Tuesday I made a second attempt to return the drapery samples (I didn't have the receipt Monday), then seeing there was a sale in the quilting fabric I picked up some 'bilaterally symmetrical with major color changes' material for my stash.  I confess I got a wee bit carried away but there finally was some very good stuff to be had.  Coming home I noticed the check engine light came on.

Wednesday I took the car to be repaired (again); this time it was apparently a spark plug misfiring.  I picked up a swag lamp conversion kit for the new pendant lamp.   Moot was a pre-event meeting and I have quite a lengthy to-do list for the next few days.  Back at home I dealt with getting the little cupboard off the wall finally.  Leofwyna and I had both tried on a couple different occasions and had to back off and re-think it.  This time I went for brute force while she wasn't there to interject reason.  There was a little wallpaper behind it which I got stripped and then I primered the damaged wallboard above the tub suround and sink area.

I learned Gabaldon's Outlander is being made into a TV series along the same lines as Game of Thrones.  I can only fervently hope it will be on a channel we get.
Monday Leofwyna wanted to use one of her coupons for lunch so we ate at the Main Street Cafe downtown before heading separately to our various errands.  At home when I can't be on the computer (the laptop is still out of order) I've been "stripping collars and cutts".  When that was completed I went back to working through the bags..

Tuesday We took Mike and Michelle to supper at Grisanti's... to thank them for all the times they take care of the girls when we're out of town, and also for the time he spontaniously mowed the lawn when our mower was on the fritz.

The front passing by south of us dropped rain, and some very wet snow on us.  So, the first snow of the year has happened without any accumulation.  We sure did need the moisture and I didn't have to scoop anything so it was good.

Wednesday evening I went to moot where Yule Court, WWM and a bid for next year's Queen's Prize was discussed.
Thursday I spent an hour outside clearing the fall veggie bed.  We had some really nice young spinach that I used in a salad with supper.  I also straightened up the hoops on the winter bed; one of the stakes has cracked and I reset it for now.  I need to reinforce the end hoops and get the plastic cover fastened down properly but I didn't get to that yet.  In the evening I finished ironing the cutters I'd gotten washed this week.

Friday I finally got back out in the garage to start taking down the set up for the sewing day I held last month.  I got Gold Key packed back into the totes in a logical manner (two totes for events this winter) and the other three with Lilies and camping in mind.  Several bags of stuff made it to the car to take to the Salvation Army.  I carried folding chairs, the step stool and a rolling table back into the house.  There's still piles ot fabric and stuff to sort and pack up and the sewing machines to carry back in.  I'll wait until after Yule Court to return the tables along with the tablecloths and signs to the storage unit.
We had thunder snow wednesday morning and I decided not to go out anywhere at all.  Instead I baked three of the overgrown pattypan squash... we'll use the pulp for soup or quick bread.  I started ironing the cuttings and got through the first three batches.
Monday I dealt with laundry and caught up with email and blog postings.  It was a lovely day out and I should have been taking advantage of that but...  well, I just didn't.  I used the first of the squash (acorn) for supper with the sprial ham Leofwyna picked up.  I also cooked up the beets and she put some of them into some reserved pickle juice..  Upon smelling said beets cooking I wsa reminded that I really don't like beets.  I had thought maybe I had matured and could develop a taste for them but I don't think it's going to happen.

Tuesday I ran stash cuttings through the wash and ended up with three basketfuls ready to iron.  At supper we had a discussion about my job hunting and forced 'early retirement' and the status of the mortgage.  I don't like the present status quo but we're dealing with it and I'm still looking for work.
