Friday after an all too brief session at the library computer I headed home to pack and load. There was a break for the movie, Kingsmen II, then back to work. At the end of day there's still considerable loading to be done but progress has been made. I told Leofwyna, "We're retired, we're on vacation, sleep. We can get there when we get there since we didn't make reservations this time." Saturday morning I'm back for another brief session on the library computer while Leofwyna sleeps. We'll finish loading, eat, shower and stop at Best Buy for the cellphone before getting on the road but we can drive into the night as long as we're alert. Oh yes, another library stop to download Stirling books on the cellphone for the road. I'd be surprised if we're out of town before 4pm at this rate.
Tuesday morning I picked up 30# tomatoes and a seeded watermelon before heading to lunch, then to the library for computer time. Back at home I picked up the multitudinous branches before I could mow. The weather was fine for this... not too hot at all. We finished up the evening with a movie, The Hitman's Bodyguard.
Tuesday lunch and library computer time. Big cucumbers are available now so processing them for cinnamon pickles is now added to the list. Leofwyna and I went to a movie tonight... Dunkirk kept us in tension throughout. Dad would have appreciated these war movies.
Tuesday at the library on computer, then FoodNet where I got 6 plums, strawberries, a tomato, a cucumber, eggs, do-nettes, a choc croissant and frozen boneless chicken thighs. Leofwyna and I went to a movie, War for the Planet of the Apes which was pretty good, followed by supper at Perkins.
Another week has passed without getting my Lilies notes transcribed. That will be my next post. This week we've had rain a couple times so getting the lawn mowed took some planning. Got that done Monday while Leofwyna was at a pre-cook for coronation. Friday was a movie... Wonder Woman was as good as friends had indicated. Other wise the week was the usual gaming on Sunday, FoodNet Tuesday*, MagMor get-together and supper on Wednesday. The computer has locked up again over the weekend and this time NTT says it's the computer and not the connection so nothing they can fix. Leofwyna has Fausti lined up for a replacement, just have to wait for it to be accomplished. So I've been spending time at the library for computer access. With the computer down I've been spending time in the evenings upstairs with Leofwyna watching tv and fripping. Got two bags done this week. This morning (Thursday) I found water on the floor downstairs again so that's to deal with today. Last night at supper Owain and Gerald sounded like they were willing to help with pruning the maple tree. If I can get Arne, too, we should be able to make good work of it without the expense of the tree surgeon who's going to be working on the tree next door. That sounds like a much better ideal fiscally. As long as no one hurts themselves.

I need to find my notebook before I can post for Lilies so that will be posted out of order. Meanwhile, I came home Friday, loafed Saturday, mowed half the lawn Sunday before going to gaming Sunday evening at Theron's. Monday I finished mowing and emptied the camper and RAV. Tuesday I weeded the tomato bed and did several loads of laundry. Tuesday evening after going to FoodNet Leofwyna and I went to the cheap movies to see Wonder Woman which was well worth going downtown for. At FoodNet we'd gotten lots of bananas, a couple artichokes, two cauliflower heads, four lemons, a dozen brown eggs and more to Wednesday afternoon and evening I baked several batches of banana bread in addition to going for the Wednesday meeting and supper.
Tuesday had plans to go to Omaha to the zoo but Leofwyna feared the heat was too much for her this week so that has been postponed. Instead we went to a movie, Gaurdians of the Galaxy II, and supper at Ticos. Back home at the sewing table worked on the strippie top.
Thursday I opened another quart of beef and broth for soup for supper. Friday, a grey and drizzly day. I was up and out early to get tickets for a movie later this afternoon. We went downtown to see Born in China... snow leopards, pandas, golden monkeys, cranes, etc. At the sewing table another set of kronberg blocks are takine shape.
Monday evening as I was putting together scalloped potatoes (using the last of my homegrown potatoes) I thought to suggest to Leofwyna that we invite Morgana to supper. She'd had a heart attack last Thursday while visiting with Cassie and was back home with two new stents. Anyway Leofwyna called and fetched her while I finished making supper and we had a nice visit with her before Leofwyna returned her home. Tuesday after I went to FoodNet we ate leftovers before heading to the movie, Logan. It was a dark ending to that particular part of the X-men series. All week I've been sleeping late and frittering away the wet, grey afternoons. Wednesday was, of course, the MagMor group followed by supper. A plan was made for a Pirate party at the Great Machine at Lilies this year. At the sewing table I'm still putting together 10.5-inch Kronberg blocks.

At FoodNet this time I got Ritz crackers, a can of white beans, two small tubes of Pringles, a couple Granny Smith apples, one potato, croissants, hard rolls, and half a dozen brown eggs.
Another week gone but this time it was more interesting. We loaded up the camper and headed up to Michigan. The weather was fine for most of the trip so spending nights in the camper in Walmart parking lots worked out just fine. In Frankenmuth our room at the inn was very comfortable. The purpose of the trip was so I could finally get a 'refresher' workshop with Paula Nadelstern and it was worth the trip. When we got there we discovered I'd recorded the dates wrong and we were a day early. We also discovered one of the other teachers had to back out and Ms Nadelstern agreed to do an additional half day workshop and I signed up for that too. So Saturday afternoon-evening we took a drive up toward the bay which deliniates the mitten of Michigan in an attempt to find water to view. We finally found access to the bay just as the sun went down so Leofwyna's photos mainly consists of sunset colors in a rather dark picture with a silvery strip for the water. Sunday after the 30-60 workshop in the afternoon we both attended the evening program. The two-day workshop I'd signed up for on Monday and Tuesday was totally what I'd wanted and I'm sure I can now delve into the special stash I've accumulated for the purpose. On the way home again the weather turned on us Thursday between DesMoines and Omaha with pouring rain. In Omaha as we thought we'd stop for supper the rain turned to sleet and we decided we should wait to get ourselves home and got back on the road without our supper. Good thing we did because it got progressily worse until just past the Platte River crossing we were slowed to a creep by wet snow falling heavily. Some drivers who failed to slow down ended up in the ditch; we passed at least two accident sites with police in attendance. We got home safely and decided to leave the unloading until the slop clears off.
So I let a whole week get away from me. Thursday Leofwyna got the surgery done on her hand for two trigger fingers.Friday we went to a movie,,, A Dog's Purpose. Aside from that we had a normal week. I've got a pile of ten inch blocks working through the kronberg blends... enough so far for 3+ tops.
Thursday was another lazy day. I did get up enough energy to straighten up the kitchen (taking out compost, doing dishes, etc) but after that I settled at the sewing table with the kronberg blends again. We came to an agreement that we'd skip Clothiers... no point going when we weren't really interested in any of the classes and we've been to a couple kingdom events already this year. Friday we went to an afternoon senior rate movie and saw The Space Between which was fairly good.
Friday afternoon we went to see Hidden Figures, a splendidly, nostalgic movie.  Afterwards we stopped in at Goodwill before going to supper at Greenfield's.  We do love their three-way chocolate desert there.  At the sewing table the pile of junk blocks is growing.
Saturday Leofwyna and I spent Christmas eve at the Ambassador with the Mobleys; we played a full set of dominos.

Sunday, Christmas afternoon we opened our presents and put together a jigsaw puzzle while watching a couple old movies.

Monday we drove up to Omaha for lunch at Pla Too and hit a few Thrift Worlds where I found a really nice pair of brown leather mules.  We returned to Lincoln in time for a movie, Rogue One.

Tuesday afternoon lunch at Ticos then another movie, Magical Creatures.  I was able to get to FoodNet where I picked up two hands of bananas, a cantelope, crackers, macadamia nut cookies, a couple sweet potatoes, and multigrain bread,

Wednesday I went to stand in the end of month lines at the DMV to get my driver's license renewed.  I was pleasantly surprised to pass the eye test.  I wrote my thank you note to Laurel for a Christmas check and replaced Leofwyna's December check. Then there was A&S in the evening followed by supper at Famous Daves with the gang.  Haldara taught nailbinding to some of us while Volkmar wove, Isadora worked on his new cloak and I stitched linen coifs.

At the sewing table this week I've put together half a dozen Kronberg quilt tops from the blends they've provided.  I'd be glad to be done with 'em as I don't enjoy working with the blends this way but there's still lots of that stuff to get through.
Tuesday I found a pair of beautiful steaks at the grocery store and splurged.  I also skipped FoodNet this week and loafed until Leofwyna came home from her afternoon errands with, surprise!, movie tickets later that night.  I hurried and put supper together before going to see Passengers which was a nearly perfect space adventure movie.  Wednesday I set the oven to clean itself while I inventoried the pantry.  Our Wednesday was an unscheduled farbel and since we were few for supper we hit Lazlo's for a nice change.  Thursday I made cranberry orange sauce and canned up 16 pints then made a big pot of potato-hamberger soup.
Tuesday the plumber came to fix the water connection on the washer and re-route the hot water pipes (apparently they were there for a water softening unit) but we just wanted to improve traffic flow.  In the late afternoon we went to the cheap movie night and saw Hacksaw Ridge.  What a great movie this one is... very intense and real.  At the sewing table I'm still sorting 2" strips.
Tuesday the haul from FoodNet was a bag of stuff that will go to Od, one dozen Aracuna eggs, a half dozen brown eggs, three apples, one big sweet potato, a box of elbow macaroni, a hand of very ripe bananas, one large tomato, a half pint whipping cream and a loaf of sourdough bread.  We thoroughly enjoyed the movie, Inferno, tonight... Ron Howard and Tom Hanks makes 'em consistantly well!  Back at home the sniglets squares pile passes 80 and the rough pile continues to shrink.  Leofwyna put together the first shelf... it's quite big so I see there's no room for a cold closet after all.  I need to consider her suggestion about putting it in the guest room instead.
Tuesday Biggerstaff starts putting in the new heater/ac.  I went and picked up tickets for Inferno tonight.  Weather promised to be nice through Thursday, though now there's some indication it may rain Wednesday and otherwise be nice through Friday.  If I can just get my energy back I should be able to put the veggie beds right for spring and get the garage ordered for the winter.  This afternoon I'll visit FoodNet, put together supper and head out for the movie with Leofwyna.
Tuesday I took two cycles on the computer at the library, trying to catch up.  I went to the FoodNet where I received four potatoes, three limes, elbow macaroni, spagetti, boxed mac and cheese, a cauliflower and a tomato, a poundcake and a loaf of sourdough bread.  I could have had more stuff but these were things I was sure I would use... and use up.  In the evening Leofwyna and I went to the movie, Sully.  That was a very good one and I think I want to see it agai sometime on the big screen.
Monday we both stayed in our jammies.  After lunch I canned four quart jars of peaches to finish up in a hot water bath.  That used two-thirds of the peaches so we've decided to get another flat and can up two more batches later in the week.  Leofwyna continued with the laundry through the day.  After supper I returned to quilting on Ingabiorg's quilt almost finishing another line while we watched a movie, Next, that we hadn't seen before.  I liked it but she was frustrated by how it ended.
