Monday after lunch and some library computer time I returned home to finish mowing the lawn. I bagged the grass this time to cover the compost pile. We moved 'stuff' out of the garage to the curb for pick-up. I also moved some of the cinderblocks to the back yard... that will be a gradual on-going project this week. We took Leofywna's van in to be serviced for the upcoming trip.
Tuesday morning I picked up 30# tomatoes and a seeded watermelon before heading to lunch, then to the library for computer time. Back at home I picked up the multitudinous branches before I could mow. The weather was fine for this... not too hot at all. We finished up the evening with a movie, The Hitman's Bodyguard.
Friday I took Leofwyna to her appointment followed by many errands. By that time I was starving so she went with me for an early supper (my lunch) before heading home to get two-thirds of the mowing accomplished. While I did that she make my calls for me and got the peaches sorted and later we prepped and canned seven quarts. There's more to do tomorrow.

Saturday we drove up to Omaha and had lunch at Pla Too before heading north to pick up the pullet eggs I'd ordered. We stopped at Blair and Gretna for the Goodwills but they were closing at three for a family picnic day to our disappointment. When Haldora called we learned our chicken order isn't happening and I'll be paying more than planned on the pies. So when we got back to Lincoln I went to Aldi's and found the chicken I need for $2/lb and got 12 pounds and was happy not to pay $5/lb. The evening was prepping and canning the rest of the peaches. I really need to figure out how to prevent siphoning though.
Saturday after some library computer time I mowed the front yard and big verges, leaving the back and small verge as there's still some really wet spots. I watered the tomatoes and brassicas from the water barrel. Sunday we went to 17th and A(?) FoodNet and got several rolls and breads for inn, an angelfood cake, strawberries, and more. I picked up a few windows and storm windows from craigslist for the glasshouse. Sunday night was gaming with Buck again... we've all been bumped up to fifth level.
Got the mowing finished Saturday evening and went to eat at chinese buffet for supper. Sunday morning I got up early to go water the community garden. In the afternoon was the Baronial A&S at the Lighthouse. A pleasant afternoon topped off with court and potluck feast.
Friday, four sessions at the library computer (morning and afternoon) with a break for lunch. Home again at five... oops! Was supposed to be there enough before five for Leofwyna to go to Isadora's... and for me to wait for the no-show LTT guy. Saturday, up early to bring more compost to the community garden and harvest some green beans such it's supposed to be not quite so hot today. The overcast disappeared just about as I was finishing up so mowing will wait until late afternoon today.
Another week has passed without getting my Lilies notes transcribed. That will be my next post. This week we've had rain a couple times so getting the lawn mowed took some planning. Got that done Monday while Leofwyna was at a pre-cook for coronation. Friday was a movie... Wonder Woman was as good as friends had indicated. Other wise the week was the usual gaming on Sunday, FoodNet Tuesday*, MagMor get-together and supper on Wednesday. The computer has locked up again over the weekend and this time NTT says it's the computer and not the connection so nothing they can fix. Leofwyna has Fausti lined up for a replacement, just have to wait for it to be accomplished. So I've been spending time at the library for computer access. With the computer down I've been spending time in the evenings upstairs with Leofwyna watching tv and fripping. Got two bags done this week. This morning (Thursday) I found water on the floor downstairs again so that's to deal with today. Last night at supper Owain and Gerald sounded like they were willing to help with pruning the maple tree. If I can get Arne, too, we should be able to make good work of it without the expense of the tree surgeon who's going to be working on the tree next door. That sounds like a much better ideal fiscally. As long as no one hurts themselves.

I need to find my notebook before I can post for Lilies so that will be posted out of order. Meanwhile, I came home Friday, loafed Saturday, mowed half the lawn Sunday before going to gaming Sunday evening at Theron's. Monday I finished mowing and emptied the camper and RAV. Tuesday I weeded the tomato bed and did several loads of laundry. Tuesday evening after going to FoodNet Leofwyna and I went to the cheap movies to see Wonder Woman which was well worth going downtown for. At FoodNet we'd gotten lots of bananas, a couple artichokes, two cauliflower heads, four lemons, a dozen brown eggs and more to Wednesday afternoon and evening I baked several batches of banana bread in addition to going for the Wednesday meeting and supper.
Thursday I mowed The Entire Yard for the first time this spring with the bagger. Boy howdy, that wore me out. It's looking good though with all the yellow dandilion heads gone. At the sewing table the last of the Kronberg blend blocks has become a top and they've all boxed up and ready to leave the house.
Monday I went to get the nut needed for the tree lopper and a new spool for the weed whacker. Back at home I removed several branches from the north maple tree to get more sun to the garden beds. Then I whacked around the edges of the raised beds and the fenceline. It's amazing how quickly the hands and backs of legs start getting tight and sore. We went to Perkins for supper... I refused to cook. At the sewing table one set of blocks were assembled into a top and a second started.
Saturday was a pretty day and so I got the rest of the concrete blocks unloaded, then got the waterbarrel leveled and raised so it will be much more useful this year. Tonight I'm working on a few more Kronberg squares and when I have enough for another top I'll pack up what's left for awhile. I need to work up garb for myself and Gold Key so I can clear out some boxes.
Thursday I find I miss the structure of heading out in the morning to the library for computer time.  Anyway I breakfasted at home while on the computer then headed out for errands.  Trying to pick up a Craigslist item proved a bust; the woman didn't know how to communicate details and I gave up on her after a second try.  Back at home I finished mowing the lawn using the bag and filling the east compost bin.  With Leofwyna gone off to music practice I grabbed some supper then spent my time in front of the tv frippering bedskirts I'd picked up in Colorado.  From this fabric I'll make a couple Gold Key shirts, a very large man's doublet for Camera Key and a blue quilt back.  Not bad for six bucks.  Leofwyna asked for birthday present suggestions; I'll have to think on this.
Wednesday I made a quick run to the library for one computer session and hurried home to be on hand when the tech came.  Turns out they were able to do the fix off-site as the system opened right up.  I've got to remember to deal with this right away instead of procrastinating the way I've been doing.  Went out and continued working the compost piles.  Leofwyna is mowing with the bag and putting chopped leaves in the bin.  We had scribal tonight followed by supper at Tandor.
Saturday after lunch and computer time at the library I attacked the lace vine on the north boundary while Leofwyna bagged up the last of the forsythia branches.  Arne had come with his chain saw and whacked those down for us this afternoon.  At the sewing table the orange essembleges are taking the shape of pumpkins.

NOTE: I owe Arne an apple crisp.
Thursday I woke up with a 'raw' throat which generally presages a nasty cold.  Still, I went to lunch and the library for a couple sessions on the computer.  Back at home in the afternoon Leofwyna and I went out to deal with the forsythia bush.  After roughly 15 years the city sent notification it MUST be cut back to 30 inches this week..,. a forsythia bush at 30 inches is nothing so it's coming out altogether more's the pity.  It's been a lovely spring display all these years.
Thursday after lunch and some computer time at the library I stopped in at the grocery and planned three meals for the weekend.  Back at home I emptied the water barrels for the winter, harvested the green tomatoes, pulled the vines and stacked the cages.  I put together pizza for supper.  At the sewing table I finished the tea party top and started a junk top for Kronberg which was nearly finished, too, when I 'hit the wall' and headed up to bed.  Leofwyna had tiles laid out all over the laundry room floor trying to decide on a layout and figure how many to buy as some of the stuff we'd picked up didn't work due to size, depth or grout style.  She's brought home one tub of mud and I'm just waiting for her to be out of the way to start the scratch coat.  I think more than one tub of that size may be required though.
Sunday after lunch I spent part of the afternoon on the computer at the library.  I mowed the verges, watered and picked tomatoes, then Leofwyna and I did a little condensing in the garage before I cleaned up to go to game night where I killed at least three kobalds.  Back at home I continued putting together the vintage wedding ring eyes.  It was late when Leofwyna and I cleared the laundry room for tomorrow's laborers.
Thursday morning I packed and loaded foodish things in the van.  We washed bed linens and towels.  We were ready to go by noon but lingered in case the travelers might pull in (turns out they didn't get in until 5pm).  We pulled out about one o'clock, stopped at Subway for our lunch and afternoon eats and got on the road home.  We drove through three storms as we went but were treated to a very long-lasting rainbow at the Wyoming-Nebraska border.  We  pulled in at home about 12:30 and were greated by both Cassie and Patsy who was coming over to see if she needed attention.  Belinda had already left for her Ansteora weekend.

Friday we unloaded the van, packed and loaded up the van, hooked up the camper and by 3pm was on the road to Des Moines for Queen's Prize Saturday.  We did pull into Des Moines in time to hit a couple Goodwills but neither of us found anything tempting.  Supper was at Red Lobster and set up at Walmarts fairly close to site.  There was lots to see and Leofwyna didn't miss a thing.  I was a little weary to I sat and stitched most of the afternoon.  Court was long as there were two Laurel elevations in addition to all the usual business.  I was disappointed that Gerald was not part of that business so it's likely to happen somewhere, sometime that I am not there.  We drove home Saturday night, pulling in about 11pm and we're totally ready to stay close to home the rest of the year.

Sunday I mowed the verges and part of the back but when I stopped to move the hose I couldn't get the hot mower started up.  I left the front for Leofwyna and the back for the next day as I needed to shower and be gone to have some supper before gaming.  Theron had a 'side' adventure set up for us in honor of Pirates' day Monday.

Monday after some computer time I finished mowing the back and dug potatoes, including one of the squares where there had been a volunteer potato (3 spuds).  I found several grubs and lots of slugs in the very wet earth.  Happily they don't seem to have hurt the potatoes though I'd hope for more than 3/4 of a 5 gallon bucketful.

At the sewing table I'm still working on sniglets but starting to cut 6.5 squares and adding red print sashing.
Sunday I mowed the entire lawn in one "swell foop" before heading out to Theron's for gaming.  At the sewing table early and late I worked on sniglets.  I was awake off and on all night with reflux... shouldn't have had that late breakfast at VI after gaming I guess.
Oops, I let this go nearly a week so lets see what I can remember.  There were a few tomatoes available for picking beginning with the little'uns this week, a few Early Girls and a really big and appropriately named Big Boy. I dealt with garb laundry off and on all week.  A lot of time has gone into putting sniglets together and I'm only beginning to put 'threes' together.  Thursday while Leofwyna was out I mowed half the lawn, rain rolled in and put a stop to that.  Friday afternoon we went to a movie, Jason Bourne.  The saga continues.  Back at thome I finished the lawn while Leofwyna work on weeds invading the sidewalks.  Saturday was Gwyneth's pre-cook. I went for cutting up, left to go to the library awhile, then returned to help with clean-up.  Our computer was acting up over the weekend but has settled down again.  Sunday I went again to Theron's for gaming.  Monday I grilled steaks for supper with green beans and garden potatoes   In the evening I finally got the cinnamon pickles canned... 13 pints of pickles plus one pint of cinnamon syrup.  Tuesday Leofwyna was gone for a pre-cook.  Quick storms came through; one out by Pioneer Park and one through Havelock.  Fighters thought they might have to cancel but they were spared.  After going to FoodNet I brought home one potato, one lime, strawberries, spagetti, one artichoke, one zucchini, a veggie tray, half a dozen brown eggs, cooked salmon, a jug of diet pepsi and fat free cream cheese,  I've cooked the eggs and potatoes (accumulated from FoodNet and my garden) to make potato salad.  I made a lettuce salad for my supper with strawberries, pod peas, tiny tomatoes but no salmon (it was too fishy for me).  I'm still working on that bottle of wonderful cherry vinegrette.  I sure hope I can find more of it when the bottle's empty.  Wednesday afternoon I cleared up the kitchen, made banana bread and muffins and cleared up the kitchen again before heading out for A&S-largess a little late but I won't miss out on the supper group going to Old Chicago.
