9:45... More 'zippy' leg in the night.  Up and out for lunch and library computer.  I reheated the two jars of pickles that hadn't sealed and was successful this time; cleaned them and put them away.  Leofwyna beat me at canasta after supper.  We stayed upstairs watching tv until bedtime.

8:15... up and out for waffles.  Spent early afternoon on laptop and 3rd day boiling syrup for cukes.  Headed out for Apple Goodwill and supper before gaming at Theron's where Gnancy got to help deal with swordwraiths.

9:50... up and out for lunch then back to complete second day boil and syrup the cukes before Leofwyna was up.  Took laptop to Best Buy with mouse problem... they say "No problem, works fine."  Home again for mowing.  Tired early and headed to bed; for a wonder I actually slept
til morning.

8:40... up and out to lunch.  Home again for computer time until Leofwyna got up then laundry, organize for cinnamon pickles and trip for groceries.  While Leofwyna did some yardwork I started the first day of the cinnamon pickles.  Finished watching the Olympics... closing ceremony.
Sunday as I left the house the sidewalk was speckled and the air smelled wet so I thought it was preparing to rain and headed to the library for the afternoon. When I came out of the library after a run of computer sessions I found the sky clear and the ground dry... I shoulda mowed today. At gaming we killed off a Manticore and her nestlings and chased off a Griffon, saving Lance in the process. I took 35/39s damage in the first battle but got in some good hits. Back at home I got the third boil done before we settled in to watch OUTLANDER, the last episode of season two and the first episode of season three. I think we need to get season two to watch again afterall (I'd declined the necessity last week) as now I'm thinking we missed some while in Colorado last year.
Saturday after library computer time and lunch returned to the house to empty the van from CR and do some "pick and put" in the garage. Got the SE corner done, swept and two tables set up before I ran out of steam. Potato soup with chedderwurst for supper (Leofwyna says etable)... I say yumtious!!! Got second boil done on the cinnamon pickles.
Thursday nearly a double session at the library computer. Called to see if Leofwyna had her car but not until later in the afternoon so I returned home so she could get to her appointments. I ended up taking a two hour nap. When she returned to get her van I headed back to the library for two more sessions before going to supper at the Chinese Buffet. Leofwyna had music. Back at home I transfered the cukes to the jars we'd retrieved from the van and did the first boil on the syrup. Much less room is being taken up in the fridge with the jars.
Tuesday after a quick library computer session I took the car home to Leofwyna as she had two appointments and several errands to run. I ran the cukes through their long day of processing to get them in syrup, still in the red pots. Since Leofwyna's errands took until seven I didn't get another computer session that I'd planned on. Since our meals today were skewed I took myself to the China Buffet again before going to the store for the cider vinegar I needed to finish the cinnamon syrup.
Saturday after a couple library computer sessions I returned home to get the laundry upstairs and deal with cleaning up the kitchen.

Sunday I returned library books to the drop and had lunch early. There was no computer today or tomorrow with them closed for Labor Day. Leofwyna went with me to gaming to spend some time with Isadora. Asa brought me 25# of big cucumbers so I have a big project coming up this week.

Monday with the library closed I loafed away time while Leofwyna slept. Once she was up I finished clearing up the kitchen and dealt with Asa'a cucumbers. Realized the big jars were still in the van which is at the shop so the cukes in limewater are in the fridge in the two red pots which took shifting the shelves. We went to the China buffet for supper. I finished another cotton cutter bag and dug into the linen cutters to get my workbasket back into service.
Oops, I let this go nearly a week so lets see what I can remember.  There were a few tomatoes available for picking beginning with the little'uns this week, a few Early Girls and a really big and appropriately named Big Boy. I dealt with garb laundry off and on all week.  A lot of time has gone into putting sniglets together and I'm only beginning to put 'threes' together.  Thursday while Leofwyna was out I mowed half the lawn, rain rolled in and put a stop to that.  Friday afternoon we went to a movie, Jason Bourne.  The saga continues.  Back at thome I finished the lawn while Leofwyna work on weeds invading the sidewalks.  Saturday was Gwyneth's pre-cook. I went for cutting up, left to go to the library awhile, then returned to help with clean-up.  Our computer was acting up over the weekend but has settled down again.  Sunday I went again to Theron's for gaming.  Monday I grilled steaks for supper with green beans and garden potatoes   In the evening I finally got the cinnamon pickles canned... 13 pints of pickles plus one pint of cinnamon syrup.  Tuesday Leofwyna was gone for a pre-cook.  Quick storms came through; one out by Pioneer Park and one through Havelock.  Fighters thought they might have to cancel but they were spared.  After going to FoodNet I brought home one potato, one lime, strawberries, spagetti, one artichoke, one zucchini, a veggie tray, half a dozen brown eggs, cooked salmon, a jug of diet pepsi and fat free cream cheese,  I've cooked the eggs and potatoes (accumulated from FoodNet and my garden) to make potato salad.  I made a lettuce salad for my supper with strawberries, pod peas, tiny tomatoes but no salmon (it was too fishy for me).  I'm still working on that bottle of wonderful cherry vinegrette.  I sure hope I can find more of it when the bottle's empty.  Wednesday afternoon I cleared up the kitchen, made banana bread and muffins and cleared up the kitchen again before heading out for A&S-largess a little late but I won't miss out on the supper group going to Old Chicago.
Thursday I loafed through the afternoon but when Leofwyna headed out for music I got busy cooking the cukes, making the syrup and getting it all together and back in the refridgerater.  At the sewing table pink strips are being sewn end to end.  We had a rather heavy rain come through late in the afternoon, saving me from watering duties for a few days.
Sunday we went to KFC and the library together.  Spent one round on the computor but decided against waiting for another.  Back at home I peeled the cucumbers and got them in lime water.  At seven we headed over to pick up tables from Owain and ended up staying so I could join the D&D group.  I started with a rogue gnome character as an inexperienced drover and had fun while a caravan was being attacked by an unknown force.
Wednesday afternoon, once Leofwyna was up, I put the cukes on to boil 2 hours, canned four quarts of beef with broth, and prepared the cinnamon syrup which went with the cooked cukes in a jar back into the refrigerater.  After a hot afternoon in the kitchen I decided to skip A&S tonight, thinking I might get to composting the potatoes but that didn't happen afterall.  Too hot at 100 degrees.  At the sewing table in the evening I started piecing a set of Mountains Majesty for a kronberg top.
Monday I thoroughly rinsed the lime from the cukes and set them to soak but I did not get around to making the syrup either Monday or Tuesday.  Gotta get on that tomorrow.  Monday I had made contact on Craigslist for a second water barrel  ($10) and picked it up Tuesday.  This one will go in the glass house when I get it built.  Tuesday we went to supper and a movie (Tarzan) with Isadora, taking advantage of the $5 night.  This was an excellent Tarzan 'sequel'.  It didn't try to retell the same tired beginning tale; instead it is set a year along when John and Jane return to the Congo.
Sunday I slept much later than I would have prefered.  Haldora called; she had overgrown cukes to deliver.  Leofwyna and I had one of our seldom tempests in the evening but managed to come back together over getting the cukes peeled and into the lime water soak.  At the sewing table I made more four-square blocks for the tea party top and started borders on the pink/violet top.
Wednesday I canned the most recent batch of cinnamon pickles and went through half my laundry.  A stop at the grocery store and I bagged some manager's special turkey wings and chicken thighs so I pre-cooked them for the broth and got six quarts pressure canned at the end of day.

Leofwyna and I went to moot and supper with the group.  There were discussions about upcoming events, including Queen's Prize, Baronial A&S, the Baron's supper and Yule Court.  I've called Sash and confessed my QP entry ain't happenin' in time and sent in my regrets to the scheduler.
Tuesday I drove over to the Heart Hospital to visit Sash on his first day after surgery.  They'd already had him up for a walk in the hall.  I didn't stay long 'cause I figured he'd be ready for a nap after that.  I delivered Leofwyna's coffee cake to the new neighbors when they got home late this afternoon.  They weren't home yet when Leofwyna tried before heading off to work herself.  Tonight I rinsed, cooked and syruped the cukes and started 'proofing' the scrappy four-squares for the purple-gold quilt.
Thursday I mowed the back yard.  Haldara dropped off a grocery bag of overgrown cukes and I peeled, cored and sliced the lot to get it into the fridge.  I need to find the pickling lime to get that started.  When Leofwyna got back from her appointment she took up the rest of the mowing and got it finished.  Yay.  I'd arranged for Ingaborg to come this evening for massages for both of us.  It's been a long while but I didn't realize it had been six months but she insists that is so.  While we watched the beginning of the 13th season of Project Runway I got the blue cotton spread cut down and bound for Leofwyna to give to Owain... the last bit of the wedding present to go with the camp bed.  Hard to believe it's been nearly four years already.  It's really incredible how time flies for me now.
Sunday we mostly loafed and relaxed from the Cattle Raids push.  Monday morning I got up early and while it was still cool removed the concrete blocks, leveled the ground and replaced the concrete blocks for the water barrel.  That looks a lot better and is ready to receive the slab.  In the afternoon I hit every thrift store with the intention of finding canning jars.  Found only two which was frustrating as I know there were several a couple weeks ago and I wasn't thinking about the pickles yet.  That evening Leofwyna canned the cinnamon pickles (only 12 pints).  Tuesday Leofwyna took her van to the garage for a tune up (preparing for our trip next month).  Wednesday I delivered Leofwyna to the garage to pick up her van before I continued out to the library for the monthly gathering.   Was delighted when watching Who Do You Think You Are? about Cindy Crawford to learn she  too was descended from our very own colonial emigrant, Thomas Trowbridge!
