Sunday I spent the afternoon at the library computer then went to gaming at Theron's. Gnancy played and we dealt with the Howling Horde and then hippogriff riders, one right after the other for 500 pts making a long evening of it. Back at home Leofwyna had found another hoard and we went back out in the cold to sort through several bags of stuff discarded from one of the duplexes up the street, mostly kitchenware, cookbooks and paperbacks. We wonder if someone has died there; no one seems to have salvaged anything.
I was planning on mowing Tuesday but it rained during the night so that's off until Thursday.  Oh darn.  Instead I busied myself dumping compost, doing dishes, sorting magazines and poking at the living room.  We went to fighting/fiber for Halftroll's birthday in a surprisingly lovely, cool evening.  Wednesday morning we got up to the alarm clock before ten; a Craigslist item last night indicated a curb-cull with fabric, not far from home, we wanted to check.  It wasn't much there but we snagged some fabric, stopped for donuts on the way home and then took naps.  We both spent part of the afternoon upstairs poking at piles before cleaning up to go to A&S.  I turned in the silk cappies and started pulling threads on linen hankies.  After supper with the gang we headed home to greet Shelly.

Since it rained Saturday morning I wasn't able to finish the fence at the community garden this weekend.  Have to get that done Monday.  I did follow up on a Craigslist free item and picked up a boxful of cones of weaving yarn in assorted colors (only a small fraction of what was available) plus a cheesebox and a produce basket.  I made a point to call our local weavers to let them know about it too (I don't think they followed up though).  Sunday was our baronial fighters' championship which we held in the recently renovated stables at Wyuka cemetary followed by court and feast.  Although the day was grey and damp it didn't actually rain, nor get too chilly.  We had a couple new gals to dip into Gold Key for and Roselle came (We haven't seen her in a very long time).  Late Sunday evening I discovered another Craigslist free listing and went across town for a pile of windows.  Several sizes and shapes, but sound and I expect them to make my 'glasshouse' even more interesting.

These long gaps are becoming somewhat chronic.  I've been having some problems with the computer.  Sometimes it comes up okay, other times it won't connect.  Rather annoying.  Today I'm at the library lab.  The other night Leofwyna and I picked up some drawers curbside (without the 'chest of') just before a thundarstorm blew through.  I'm planning on using them when we organize the back shelves in the garage (when we get the stuff in the garage cleared out that is).  Meanwhile, even though we've been having some fine weather, I haven't made any progress in the gardens.  Terrible procrastination going on here.  Evenings I have been working at the sewing table... a little on the silk blocks, a little on the cooler covers, a little on a hat to add to the camera key totes.  Leofwyna's been struggling with sciatica and we're wondering if we might have to postpone the California trip until it does clear up.  Five weeks traveling with sciatica would NOT be much fun.  For the time being her disposition is touchy as a result.  I have, finally, gotten a short set sewn up for Leofwyna that she's quite delighted with.  Now we need to find the rest of the knits she bought to make up a few more now that I have the pattern drafted.
Saturday I worked on the shower and sunshade for the camper and showed 'em off to Leofwyna Sunday.  It's shaped up very nicely and she's quite impressed.  Sunday afternoon I drove back out to NW Lincoln and picked up another three glass doors   Sunday evening Leofwyna came back from her evening rounds and drew me out for some curbing.  There's a lovely flush of yellow and purple crocus across the front of our yard.
Saturday Leofwyna and I met up with the Doerrs for supper at Ledbetter's and then to STOMP! at the Lied.  This is the third time I've seen them and Leofwyna says it's the fifth for her.  They've been performing for eighteen years and we enjoy them just as much as we did the first time.  Sunday Leofwyna and I went 'curbing' in the afternoon.  Found a couple pallets.  We also ran across our first garage sale of the year (on a Sunday yet!) and bought a cotton cutter shirt.  At the sewing table I've been sorting and cutting stash into the strip storage drawers.  I need to get some more variety into the 2" strips so I can add cornerstones to the sashes for the second wonky stars top.  We had some gloriously beautiful weather this weekend and it looks to continue a few more days at least.
Although I did the odd tasks about the house, nothing significant enough to comment on.  I did get out a little while on Monday and hit one of the thrift stores with moderate success.  While I was out I noted a little bedside chest curbside.  Upon checking, it was wooden and in good shape except for the top surface needs refinishing so I loaded it up.  Leofwyna got home late Monday evening with some several cutters from an afternoon of thrift shopping up in Omaha.  She and Shelly have started making some progress in packing up the house this weekend.
Friday I finished turning my community plot... I left the clods pretty rough so the weather can can work on it this winter.  I was glad to see lots of happy worms as I was doing my work.  The neighboring plot looked like it was worked over with a tiller.  It was pulverized and I'm nearly certain no worms survived the process.  Saturday I picked up Leofwyna and Morgana at the airport... back home from their cruise around Greece.  They did well together and were bubbling about their experience... and thoroughly exhausted from the long day travelling home.  They'd gotten up and going to the airport 4am Athens time and landed here in Lincoln 7:30pm our time.  After taking Morgana home and getting back to the house, Leofwyna headed to bed about 9pm and slept through past 1pm Sunday.  That was when I let the cats upstairs so KC could wake her up for cuddles.  Sunday afternoon we went out for lunch and then for a drive, just to get out in the pretty day and help keep her awake.  We stopped in at the south Goodwill where she had great luck and carried out a bagful of stuff.  I had some luck too, getting thread and three pint canning jars.  On the way home we meandered 'curbing' and found more broken wood furniture for our mason bee habitat project.  I think she's planning to spread several throughout the neighborhood.  [NOTE:  She brought back a very pretty opal-and-silver-greek-key bracelet for me.]  Tuesday the van is still waiting attention so Leofwyna took the car for errands and to vote.  When she got back I went to vote and pick up rolls to go with Chili for supper.  The chili I canned last month was a success!  Oh, and it's good to have her back home.
Sunday I headed out by myself.  First stop was a Morgana's to review catfood instruction.  I stopped at the south Goodwill where I found seven packets of thread.  I spent a little time on the computer at the library and then picked out a new audio book for the car.  'Curbing' on the way home I was delighted to find birch logs which we had wished for to use for pollinator habitats.  Back at home I got another log cabin sett assembled and bordered. I have one last sett to work up for the Kronberg group, then I can go on to something new.  We topped off the day with a late night attempt to view Orionid meteors (no luck) and a short stint 'curbing' where Leofwyna spotted one pile to check and came away with a few odds and ends which included an unopened bag of catfood.
Saturday night Leofwyna and I had some real good luck curb culling.  We found a a lovely dark wood headboard, two white 'shelves', a rolling suitcase and much other stuff.  At the sewing table I put a border on one of the log cabin tops.
Sunday we both went to the Barons' thank you party.  They served up a spread of tacos, enchiladas and chocolate cake.  There was a very good turn out for it and we had time to visit with each other which doesn't happen much when we're hosting a kingdom event like Cattle Raids or Winter War Maneuvers.  Since it was such a pretty day we decided to take the long way home for some 'curb culling'.  We found a metal wine rack, a long handled pooper scooper, a decorative little red wagon, some wood trim and a 'half roof'.  Around midnight, after watching a couple movies, Leofwyna had made a list from Craig's list and we went to check out some possibilities and came home with a screen door, a couple glass windows, a wooden half-door ear-marked to put together a cold frame.
