Since Leofwyna didn't sleep well we postponed Omaha. Up and out for lunch, stopped at the Vine Goodwill then went to the library for the afternoon. Back at home Leofwyna put together turkey gravy and dressing from the freezer for supper. We headed downstairs for more Olympics and I put together another strippie top for Aurora.
Up and out for lunch then home and on the laptop. Leofwyna out running errands throughout the afternoon. Evening was Magmor ZOOM (Gerald and Morgana discussion on rocket stoves) after which we stayed upstairs watching Olympics.

Up and out for lunch. Pretty weather again as predicted and I want the sun. Gaming tonight with DM Agnes and we continue working our way through rooms and hallways encountering zombie dwarves, critters and a mage... looks like a continuation of same next week. Olympics are including figure skating now.

Aug. 9th, 2016 03:46 amSaturday we got up earlier than usual and headed uptown for the first of three pre-cooks. Afterward Leofwyna dna I went to Valentino's for supper as we both had enough cooking for the day. Sunday we spent the afternoon watching the Olympics. I went to the Doerr's for my second game night. Monday afternoon I mostly loafed but I did get the second cinnamon syrup boil done while I heated up supper. Whenever I was at the sewing table these days I was putting together pink strips. I finished the first top longer than usual, deciding to keep it for myself.

Jul. 30th, 2012 02:32 pmSaturday I got on the ball and did my laundry which pretty much tied up the entire afternoon. I've been harvesting a few tomatoes fairly regularly. Their skins are tough and I'm thinking I should be watering more often... my bad! I pretty much decided not to go around to the Goodwills this weekend for the 99-cent sales. I hardly need to add to the piles of stuff around here and I'm more aware of them since we're packing things up for the renovation. Since they do these sales one weekend nearly every month I can wait until August for the next one.
Sunday I bailed on the baronial archery event. I never did decide about a dish for feast and when it came time to dress and go I procrastinated. Once I realized I'd probably only go for court it seemed silly to drive that far so I ran some errands instead. Tonight while watching Olympics I finished the ecru linen shift and got back to work on a shirt-pieces linen shift. So far I've put pieces from four shirts/blouses into this shift and will probably do most of a fifth to finish it.

Tonight I went to A&S 'cause Cts Jane was talking about metal corsets. This was her thesis paper and she actually made a copy of one of the extant corsets to fit herself in order to better understand how wearing one would feel. She wore hers through one working day, including wearing a backpack, running for a bus, and picking up things off the floor. She said the fit was good and she was able to deal with it for the day but it forced her posture and she was exceedinly happy to have it off that night and ached for days afterwards. It was fascinating to learn metal corsets were actually orthepedic devices in period to deal with scoliosis and tuberculer bone issues. One practitioner (in London?) had so many clients that the wealthiest could only be seen twice a month to adjust the device and change the shirt worn under it. Some clients might go a month between consultations. Imagine wearing a metal corset 24/7 and only changing your shirt once a month. Metal corsets only became fetish devices post period.
THURSDAY
After starting the crock pot with a pork loin roast I went out for lunch and made stops at Kinkos, the library, a fuel stop and a Goodwill before heading home again. I did find a scrapbooking magazine for Leofwyna which made her very happy. I also found two yards of a nice colorful cotton batik for my quilting stash.
We tape the Olympics then fast forward to find the figure skating events to watch each evening this week. The male Russian skater needs a serious reality check though. I'm glad our skater got the gold.

I spent most of the day loafing; I did find one more job lead to apply for. This evening I found a replay of this week's Project Runway; loved the winner's dress for Heidi. Leofwyna headed off with a friend for a pedicure then came back and picked me up to go to supper at the Chinese buffet. Back at home we watched the Olympics opening ceremonies and worked on another of the little jigsaw puzzles I got in the multipack. She got everything else together while I was still working on the bit of blue sky at the top; I'm glad to say she finished the sky after I went to bed so I can do a different puzzle this weekend while she's at work.
