Wednesday Leofwyna and I went to lunch together before taking her to get her first shots for her back. I surely do hope they do her a great deal of good! Once she was settled back at home I headed to the library for genealogy time, then the other library for meeting and supper at Tandor with the gang. There's much discussion about Lilies and upcoming events. Our new family enjoyed Lilies and seem to be hooked. At home at the sewing table I'm harvesting 2-inch squares for the kitty lozenges.
Monday and Leofwyna was off for hand surgery (trigger fingers). I waited for the Mohrhoff (now Ty Service) delivery at 2pm before heading out myself. Spent the bulk of the afternoon doing genealogy at the library computer. Finished leftover bean soup and cornbread for supper with peach shortbread for desert. Downstairs in the sewing room I boxed up the seven Kronberg tops, assembled the first of two flannel tops, hemmed dish towels and making dust covers for my shelves.
Sunday while Leofwyna headed up to North Loup for Laurel's family visit I spent the afternoon on the library computer then headed to gaming at the Doerr's where we had a limited (50 pts) adventure since there were only four of us. This will be the last Volkmar acts as GM and Owain will take on the GM role the next time we play. Monday Morgana acted as Leofwyna's transport for her surgery as it was my turn to go up to North Loup for Laurel's funeral and the family luncheon. The drive up was rather hairy as the interstate was fog covered from Lincoln to Grand Island. Thankfully I drove out of the fog when I turned north at GI... the drive back was much less alarming with the overcast instead. We had the leftover soup for supper and I fripped as we watched tv.
Wednesday spent the afternoon on the library computer then went to Moot and supper (Red Robin) with the gang. Learned Leofwyna is to have surgery Monday to remove the tips of two toes (one each foot) as infection has entered the bone there. Yipes!
Friday I got up early to feed the puppies and cat before heading out to drive Leofwyna to the hospital for her foot surgery.  And at the end of the day I picked her up again and took her to the house where I was 'sitting' so she's set up in splendor for her recovery.  This has timed out real well for us as she wouldn't have been nearly as comfortable at home with the renovation mess.  This also keeps her from trying to 'do something' when she shouldn't be doing anything.

I spent the afternoon (while waiting for the call to pick up Leofwyna) doing some preliminary work on the Nadelstern project.  I picked a pink 'prima donna' and fussy cut pieces for the point of wedges; I have begun.
Monday was Leofwyna's day of surgery to correct the problems she has in her left foot.  Three different procedures in one go so she'll have to stay OFF that foot for six weeks.  She's already thinking she'll have to go through this again next year for the other foot.  I am SO glad my feet are good 'cause the whole idea of foot surgery is freaky to me.

I drove over to the hospital with her so the van wouldn't end up six weeks in the parking lot and then went back to pick her up when she called near 4pm.  She's working out how the crutches work and I did supper for us.
WEDNESDAY

Owaine mc'ed at moot tonight on a discussion regarding "Why are you here?"  There was a really good turn out and we discussed how we got into the SCA and why we've stayed.

I was chastised for not getting information out on the lists about Leofwyna's stay in the hospital but since the computer was down all that week getting on the lists wasn't happening.  Besides that,  she was in pain, on meds and sleeping lots so having company just wasn't something to be desired.  I was in every day either delivering odds and ends as she thought of them or just checkin up on her and if she'd been antsy I would have gotten the word out for folks to entertain her.

Well, anyway, the computers are working and I'm off to ancestry.com to do some further exploration.
Two weeks later... I'm back.  Turns out it wasn't the computer's problem.  The black box was fried.  It's been replaced and I'm on the laptop we inherited.  I need to get a cable to link the old computer to the new black box before we can use that.  I also need to find out what we need to add on so we can both be on a computer at the same time.

Additionally, Leofwyna spent six day in hospital with a kidney stone.  All this turned things topsy-turvey for me between visiting her and the computer library lab to try to keep up and I had to let posting go for the while.

Such pretty weather we were having too.  Crocus are up, robins and mourning doves staking out their territories, and the cardinals are in the treetops singing "spring is here, spring is here, pretty-pretty-pretty!".  Leofwyna missed out on a lot of that and now she's home again it's taken up snowing again.  I may regret not having gotten out to work on the raised beds during the good weather but I'm hoping to accomplish that in the next couple weeks when the fair days return.

Leofwyna goes back to work next Tuesday.  Meanwhile I'm keeping myself available to entertain her between naps.   Today we hit all the Goodwills for 99 cent clothing sale and I found denim shorts for this summer and several cutter shirts for garb and quilting.  By the time we got home she headed in for a nap while I put together a tuna cassarole for supper.
