Monday I had every intention to mow the lawn but with a terrible heat index and humidity I procrastinated.  I did get out to water the gardens and harvested several squash and some green beans.  I'm still piecing crazy blocks at the sewing table but the pile of sample pieces is finally getting thin so the end is in sight.  I haven't counted yet but I'm thinking there may be 3-4 tops there.
Monday we had a really substantial rain so no yard or garden work today nor probably tomorrow.  I did check on the squash as I don't want very many overgrown ones but nothing ready to pick.  Some are exhibiting end rot... possibly because of the amount of rain we've been having.   I didn't check on the beans as I didn't want to walk on wet soil.  Leftovers for supper and at the sewing table more silk crazy blocks are added to the pile.
Friday I headed out to the Goodwills for the 99-cent sales and came home by way of the grocery store to get "beanies-and-weins" for supper.  In addition to the various garments I purchased a mirro pressure cooker (need to replace the 'plug') and a vegetable garden book.  At the sewing table the pile of silk crazy blocks is growing.
Thursday I ran Leofwyna over to pick up her RAV... hit the library for a talking book for the car... but mostly loafed the day away.  A brief stop at the community garden shows many, many little yellow squash to plan on eating soon.  I harvested one nice sized one to start the season.  At the sewing table I've been putting together upholstery sample silk crazy blocks and cutting them to 12-inch squares to eventually embroider.
Tuesday through Friday the weather was wet, chilly or out and out cold so I spent most of my time on the computer or piecing the crazy quilt tops.  Wednesday I attended moot and went to supper with Sash and the gang.  Friday I finished the crazy quilt tops for Kronberg.  I know there must be more bags of samples in the house somewhere but for the moment I'm done with 'em.

Saturday I took Volkmar's tote to sewing day and got his two linen gambesons cut out and the batting layers hand stitched at the shoulders.  Back at home I started the machine sewing and got well along in the assembly and quilting of the first one.  Leofwyna got put on call so she started painting the trim for her room and ordered pizza for supper.
Thursday I finished up the cooked turkey (backs) into a fricasee with lots of peas and carrots on noodles and it really turned out great.  I spent the evening putting the first crazy top blocks together while Leofwyna had the computer.

Friday and Saturday I put in three stints painting shelves.  Since I must wait four hours between coats I still need to put the second coat on the second side of them and do the edges on the small shelves.  I'm thinking the weather prediction for the next week is going to prevent me dealing with them for awhile.  I have an event tomorrow afternoon so even if the rain holds off I won't be painting.
Saturday was the last day this year to get tuna frenchies at Ted and Millie's and I stopped at the Goodwills for the .99 sale.  I found a pair of shoes that I think will work great for SCA.  I set up to paint the closet shelves late in the afternoon but couldn't find the box of brushes and rollers and lost the momentum.  I'll have to wait a couple days now for warmer weather to return.

Easter Sunday and I found my annual bunny basket at my threshold.  Leofwyna is very holiday-centric to my definite advantage.  On a trip to the store I found three packages of turkey backs and a small beef roast, all at major discount, so that's what I was cooking up (separately of course) today.   It wasn't ready in time for supper though so we went to Golden Corral for supper when Leofwyna woke up.  We're getting used to the new television set up and amassing quite a list of recordings.

Monday before making a trip to Menards for a short list of things to finish up details I found the painter's box so I didn't have to get rollers.  After I made up the beef with rich gravy and noodles for supper we went to a movie and saw Mount Olympus Has Fallen.  I'm afraid it had a definite flavor of the sort of movies they were making at the beginning of WWII, preparing the masses to be properly motivated.  Aside from that it was action-packed and the story worked.

I've almost reached the bottom of the sample pile.  The last few blocks are pieced with golden fabric as that's all that's left.
Sunday I came to the conclusion that the computer at home is going to die sometime soon. Oh, the noises it makes.  Today I'm in the library computer lab.  Leofwyna has said that since we can't do the three week California/Pacific Coast trip we might use those funds for a new computer instead of leaning on Dwolm yet again to deal with our tower problems.  I'm all for that!  Meanwhile I'm still working on the crazy quilt tops.
Sunday we discussed going to a movie but couldn't find one out right now that either of us were interested in seeing.  I've got my pile of crazy blocks built up to around 40 and I'm trying to eke a few more out of what's left of the samples without losing the quality of interest.

Monday I got out and washed the car, got the bad haircut trimmed and stopped in a couple thrift stores (I found another hose tractor for $20 so I can water the yard in half the time).  In the evening after putting together supper I went back to the crazy blocks.
Friday I went out and bought the new tags for the car and picked up a roast chicken for supper.  Kevin got the grouting done in the kitchen and bathroom.  He disappeared while I was gone which surprised me 'cause I thought he was going to strip the linoleum from the stairs to be ready to tile them Monday.  I spent part of the evening working up a few more crazy quilt blocks.
Thursday I started putting together crazy blocks from the sample bag and got ten completed and roughly another dozen started.  I think I'll pick the best dozen blocks when I'm done to do embroidery on and just put the rest together for the Kronberg pile.

The tiles got put into the bathroom.  The little blue Martini tiles are perfect with the periwinkle paint and I like the pale tiles on the floor to complement the intensity of the color on the walls.
