Saturday the others were up and out before I woke and I was awake about 9:30. After lunch I headed to the Speedway and learned upon arrival that troll was closed and I was unnessary. After an hour or so, with Leofwyna and Isadora gone, I bailed for awhile. Went back lto help with cleanup and found everyone leaving already at 5:15. Both Jacob and Tola with Freya are back here tonight and will head out in the morning.
Friday I slept well and woke dreaming I was a bat and my friend (I don't remember who) was a spider; we were trying to thwart the bad guys. Go figure! This afternoon I headed to Chinese buffet for lunch then back home to prepare for guests. Both (Tola with her dog, Freya, and Jacob) arrived about 9pm and we chatted while Leofwyna and I worked some more on the songbooks. We have nine ready to present tomorrow and plan to make more before Gulf Wars.
Wednesday I headed out for Philosophy night.  Back at home I helped Leofwyna put up the front new curtain rod and four panels of copper-colored curtains.  Looks good  Our overnight crashers didn't arrive until 2am so there was no time to visit if they were to get any sleep before leaving for a 7am appointment.
Wednesday I spent a great chunk of time again at the city library on the computers there.  Then out to the other end of town for philosophy night followed by dinner at Red Robin with the gang.  While telling Owain about the computer problems at home he pointed out that Will, at the other end of the table, works with computers.  When all was said and done Will had agreed to deal with the desk computer system in exchange for some garb-making.

Thursday I took the laptop to Office Depot to be cleaned; hopefully that will take care of that problem and I may have it at home this weekend.  But it's back at the library this afternoon for another chunk of genealogy before heading home to clean for guests.  Talked to Aibhelin and turns out the second set of crashers won't be coming either, but perhaps one of the fighters instead.  AND Dwolm will come over Friday evening to deal with the desk computer, bless him mightily!!!

Friday morning I called and talked to the tech at OD; the laptop will be ready to pick up at one after a simple cleaning ($20) so that's good too.

FRIDAY-SATURDAY

Got everything ready for crashers but they didn't show up.  I can understand if they decided it was too far to trust the weather but it would have been good for them to let me know.  I didn't get much sleep so after troll for WWM was completed I slipped away home for a two-hour nap and got back in time for court and to help with the clean up.  I'm back at home now to change and eat and put my feet up awhile before going to the post revel.  I wish I could just skip it and stay home (I'm still awfully tired) but I've got Leofwyna's cookies to deliver for the birthday party and I figure to help with clean up after.  At least without any crashers I can count on sleeping in as late as I like Sunday.

THURSDAY

I put half a pork tenderloin into the crockpot this morning, no seasonings 'cause pork has such delicious flavor all itself.  I got the snowblower out and cleared the driveway and sidewalks.  I got boxes and a few other things cleared out of the living and dining rooms preparing for guests this weekend.  Sometime the next couple weeks I'll have to empty my room back out into the living room, sort, repack and eliminate some of it all so I can move about in my room and then AGAIN empty the living room.  Hopefully this process will have lots of stuff cleared into the garage for a rummage sale next  spring.  I know this process will locate the supplies for a couple projects I've been wanting to accomplish, one of them being the Florentine ensemble I want to make.

For supper Leofwyna made corn from the freezer, rice, and lovely simple gravy with the pork.  That's one of my most favorite meals.  Later she made double chocolate cookies for this weekend's event and we had a few cookies and milk for a treat.  We've been watching the Caprica DVDs Leofwyna borrowed.  I'm finally seeing them all in order and complete.  Definately an interesting series.
FRIDAY

For the first time we offered crash space in our home and I think it went well. We put our guests up in the living room as we aren't done with putting the downstairs in order yet. As neither Leofwyna nor I had been able to locate either of the air pumps I had spent much of the evening blowing up an air mattress myself. Fortunately since they'd said they wanted to use the two sofas I didn't need to blow up any more than the one mattress. Amba, Hrolfgar and Viktor finally arrived well after eleven, instead of ten or so, because they had to drive very slowly through lots of fog.

SATURDAY

We had a good turnout for Winter War Maneuvers with royalty visiting from three kingdoms and roughly 350 in attendance. Court included Dolan's Laurel elevation with a beautiful ceremony with music and poetry. Other awards included Torse's for Chiara and Gyda and an AOA for one of the Scarlet Keepers. There was also a fyrd given in a field court early in the afternoon to one of our lady fighters. My crashers were pretty much used up by the activities of the day and decided to head home instead of staying for the revel and crashing another night.

SUNDAY

Leofwyna woke me at nine this morning thinking I'd forgotten to set the alarm to go help with revel clean up. Since I was awake and she was going I went too and with Natalia and Zino were done in just under an hour. We'd intended to go see the 3D version of Avatar that night but the lines were long so we decided to wait until a weeknight instead. We stopped on the way home to rent a couple movies and I watched Night in the Museum II with her before heading to bed.

MONDAY

I went out today to see if a ten-pack jigsaw puzzle was still at the Salvation Army. It was so I got it to surprize Leofwyna with. Turns out only five of the puzzles are in the box but the price was good enough to make that okay too. The first puzzle we put together, a night scene, went quickly so we started another of a street scene of a sidewalk cafe which is terribly 'painterly' therefore more difficult.

I also found an electric aebleskiver 'iron' with which I want to try a small batch for myself to see if it works before I surprise Leofwyna with that potential delight. If it doesn't really work I can get rid of it and avoid disappointing her with it.

This evening when Leofwyna went into the laundry room she saw one of the air pumps on the laundry table. Then as she was looking for her event basket to find her scissors she found the other pump in the top box of a stack of boxes (also in the laundry room). Can we spell embarassed and annoyed?

TUESDAY

Today I put some sausages to heat in a pot of water for lunch and forgot them. About an hour later they made their presence known and I spent another hour chilling the house by airing out the fumes. Tonight when Leofwyna is gone to work I'll have to deal with the carbon in the bottom of the pan when it won't matter what kind of noise I may have to make in that process.
MONDAY

Talked with Leofwyna about furnishing crash space for Winter War Maneuvers and we decided we could manage this. I contacted Chiara and it's a done deal; we'll have three fighters crashing in our front room Friday and Saturday nights.

After supper we finished the latest jigsaw puzzle then played a round of scrabble which, for a wonder, I actually managed to win. This, I tell you, is a rarity for me against Leofwyna!

TUESDAY

This afternoon I went to a couple of the closest thrift stores. One of them was having a 'traveling sale' day (one garment full price and the next four at $1) which I took advantage of bagging ten items for their fabric and a pair of sandals for next summer. At the other store I found a pair of pristine black leather shoes.

So back at home with Leofwyna gone to work I started straightening up the public areas in the house beginning with cleaning up and putting away things in the kitchen and front room.
