Sunday I worked some more on Voilkmar's linen gambison and have it nearly finished.  Only a little handwork left to do and the ties will see it finished. Wrestling with the heavily batted garment has made my arms achy though, right above the inside elbows and the wrists.  Ouch!  I'll wait a couple weeks before I deal with the second one.  Leofwyna and I have been discussing vacation possibilities for next September.  We're looking at Kentucky and Tennessee, remeniscent of our first vacation when we were kids when Dad drove us around the country in our converted panel truck called Uncle Herman.  I wonder if we'll find the rocky stream where we spent one night on that trip.
Friday and the temps have dropped drastically.  I hope the weather predictions are right about the next few days and that it will come back up some.  Leofwyna's peer invited us for a household get-together so I made up the cherry-cola jello salad we like at Thanksgiving to take for the potluck.  These people are always fun to spend time with.  In addition to eating we chatted, worked on individual crafty projects and paged through a huge pile of this fall's catelogs.  Yeah, most of us are kinda odd but we have fun with it.  Leofwyna and I shared our rough plans for a Pacific Coast drive next summer, made arrangements to deliver some firewood for Morganna's house-warming present, and for a visit with Dwolm to get our laptop tweeked and to see his new kitchen make-over.  [Note: Leofwyna got lucky.  She got put on-call so she was able to stay for all the fascinating activity.]

Leofwyna has plastered and sanded the bathroom and kitchen backboards.  We're nearly ready to start priming and painting.   I'll get my chance to shine.
Leofwyna recently asked where I'd like to travel if the opportunity would arise.  Aside from a wish to spend a summer touring Denmark, I'd like to do the drive north along the Pacific Coast from California to Oregon and Washington.  We also really should get out there someday to visit Aunt Jeanne.  It sounds like Leofwyna is really considering trying to accomplish such a trip next summer; she says Yosemite tops her list.

I've been assiduously harvesting ground cherries and freezing the ripest ones for baking once we have the kitchen put back together.  The cool nights are clearly having an effect on those plants.  I've been doing some research and have ideas for having many more plants in a bed propped up by tomatoe cages over the ground cover to make harvesting easier next year.  Now it's time to cut the broccoli plants out and take them to the zoo so I can get the beds ready for winter and next spring.  I also need to start putting up the improved hoophouse for the winter garden.

I got stopped by the police Tuesday night; one of my headlights is out and he just gave me a warning.  I'd planned to get an oil change and replace a windsheild wiper soon so this just moves the date up getting the car in to deal with it.  A certified letter also reminds me my insurance is due.  I'm just waiting for a transfer to come in from T-C so I can drive a check over to them this week.
Friday the car showed me a low coolant light again.  It's only been a couple weeks since I put $300 into it for that very reason so Monday I'll be calling the garage about it.  I'm almost afraid to consider what else might crap out around here.

I got the things done Friday that I needed to have ready for Saturday and we spent that day at 12th Night.  We didn't get onto the feast list so a bunch of us went to Katie's Greek Restaurant for supper afterward.  Leofwyna accidently locked the keys in the van at Katie's so the whole group waited with us in the parking lot for the locksmith to come and open it.

Sunday I'd only just gotten up when a call rang in from JG about the transcription; I headed over to his place to pick up a hard-copy so I won't be limited to city library time schedule.  I'm back to keying on his wife's number 3 laptop and I'll sit up late working on this... and finish up sometime late Monday, hopefully.

During the drive up and back Saturday, Leofwyna expanded on her summer camping plans this year.  I had to rein in some of her ideas to leave room for my rummage sale in July.  Gotta hang on to some time for prepping and to keep up in the garden.  Sounded like she was thinking about half a dozen short trips in addition to my time at Lilies.  I held her back to three I think; one in late May, one during the summer and one in mid September.   Of course, all this is subject to change if I find work.
I spent most of Saturday and Sunday trading off between my genealogy research and cutting the cutters down with a few hours Saturday night at Sash and Rich's New Year's Eve souper supper with Braganza, Stacia, Marcella, Edward, Cat, Oz, Rosa, and Bristol.  Leofwyna worked both nights so she missed out on the party.  Apparently tonight her work is slow enough she's researching plans for a couple camping weeks this coming year in May and September intending to avoid hot summer camping.  This proposed camping scheme may cause me to have my rummage sale in July instead of May to get out from under the spring gardening and JAV/Lilies crush.
FRIDAY

Finally went up to bed at 4am; carefully placing my organized piles back in the corner so I could sleep in my bed.  The stuff at least takes up less space now and I know what's there so maybe I'll get some of it sewn up over the next few weeks and months.  At least today I worked further on the trim shirts, cutting them down and machine sewing them together end to end (carefully matching patterns) and winding them up in tidy little bundles to go in the trim box for future use.  Was a useful passtime between laundry changeovers through the afernoon and evening.  Got the laundry done, too, and put away.

SATURDAY

Leofwyna suggested looking for early garage sales today and I was glad to go along with this notion.  Turned out neither of us found anything at all but it was a pretty afternoon.  The rainstorm came through arround six complete with a full rainbow in the East for about five-ten minutes which Leofwyna missed while she stopped at work to get something from her locker and check the schedule for the next cycle.

SUNDAY

I had good intentions today that I didn't do any of... though it's gotta be done fairly soon.  Instead I poked around the Internet all afternoon and then worked up more trim once Leofwyna got home from work so she could poke around the Internet.  She's all excited about the timing for our trip out to Montana this summer and we may go a little further to an event in An Tir that weekend.  She spent the evening checking milage and what we might find to do inexpensively along the way.
