FRIDAY
Got the last of the handsewing done on Ducky's surcote and Viking Coat and let Emalye know they were ready. They both came to pick the rest of the things up. Ducky was delighted with the Viking Coat. The surcote is a little long but he'll belt it. He has the option of having me shorten it later on if he feels it's necessary. I also insisted he borrow a wool blanket with instructions to use it *under* the bottom sheet as I've found that's where the cold comes in at night. I'll make Sash take one too when I deliver my gray mantle for him to use.
While they were here I suggested Emalye have me make the leftover wool into a woman's Viking caftan. She thinks that's a good idea as she's going to Gulf War and will need something warm. Perhaps I'll get to make up her tunic and apron dress too, hmm?
I spent the rest of the evening leisurely stripping out more of the cotton samples... Yes, they're still taking time. A little most every evening until my hand cramps up and I switch over to the computer. Progress is being made however; someday this winter I'll be able to put together a few more of 'those' quilt tops and deliver them from the house.
