MONDAY

Got the broccoli pulled and taken to the zoo for the animals to use. I've done this every year that I've had broccoli. There's plenty in my compost bins and broccoli SMELLS much worse than fermented grass and takes up way too much space so I'm really glad the zoo can use it. Noticed how nice the Sunken Gardens looked as I drove by... all purple, red and gold masses of flowers.

My timing in doing all this was nearly perfect. The first rain blew through as I drove to the zoo; the second after I left the zoo; and the third later after I'd been home awhile. I'm glad to report the electricity outage missed us. Apparently we were on the very north edge of the developing storm as there's been lots of damage reported to the south and east.

Leofwyna and I started another puzzle tonight. Found there were two puzzles in the box we chose and in sorting and beginning a border to work the puzzle we don't have a picture for was the one started. This is really a challenge as we both depend on visual placement as we go so it may take a while.

TUESDAY

Aside from making a great chicken and green grape salad I haven't accomplished much today. Did put in a couple hours this evening on the puzzle with minimal progress. I can't seem to get real motivated to get ready for this rummage sale nor work on any of the many possible activities I could pull out, including Queen's Prize coming up in November. I think I'm missing the structure of having a job to schedule myself around.

[Insert much moaning here and we'll move along.]
