TUESDAY
What did I do today? Hmm... since Leofwyna got put on call I carefully kept quiet downstairs until she woke up. Then I started another load of wash before heading out to the fabric store to pick up twill tape, thread and mock horn buttons to finish Ducky's new wardrobe. I stopped to eat lunch and then at the Goodwill where I found some neat Indonesian fabric for my quilting stash, or maybe I'll use it to make camping pillowcases. When I got back home Leofwyna was eager for me to go with her to get signatures notarized to get legal things proceeding. And back at home again I got onto the next phase of sewing...
Using 2" wide upholstery cotton twill I made drawstrings for Ducky's pants. I fold it lengthwise in thirds, stitch up both edges and voila! Makes really nice drawstrings. I also seamed up the shoulders of the sideless surcote of a cozily heavy wool. I'm binding the edges of the sideless surcote with cotton-linen strips cut from one of the shirts I've picked up to avoid bulking up the hems. Oh bother! I forgot to get back to the laundry... more tomorrow.
