Tuesday as Leofwyna headed out to work I was watering the veggie beds and cutting low-hanging limbs off the lilac and hackberry between the fence and garage. This has become necessary in order to be able to mow the strip on the east edge of our property. Since the house next door is presently empty (I've heard it's been foreclosed) I wasn't able to approach the neighbor about his tree's low hanging branches and I finally had enough being scratched up while mowing that bit. I also tried to cut back some limbs on the north maple which has begun to shade my raised beds more than I like. I think I'm going to have to ask Leofwyna to do the trip up the ladder to trim this tree up better for me. I managed to get the trimmings up front bagged but I still need to deal with the pile of branches in back.
