Feb. 17th, 2013 10:14 pmFriday I took Leofwyna to lunch for a late Valentine's Day. I sorted through the "pile" in my room which was greatly overdue. I now have a dozen paper shopping bags of cutter cottons that need my attention. I spent more time piecing but I also got the machines oiled and ready to go. After an intensive search in my sewing area I was still unble to find the Necchi power foot so I must try to get it replaced. I find I'm down to one power foot for the 301/221 machines. I have one more that can probably be repaired but I need to check ebay to order a third.
Saturday I made a quick morning trip to Husker Sew and Vac to replace the power foot for our Necchi then off to fiber day where I got three quilts basted using the kitchen island for a basting table. It was a really good height for me and I'll want to do that again sometime; I've got lots of tops to catch up on. Now I have the guest room quilt, the vintage mourning quilt and the "balloons" quilt ready to work on. Leofwyna worked on a new Armenian robe. The others were working on weaving and garb-making so lots was accomplished.
Plans were made with Morgana and Isadora to go to Omaha Monday for a thrift store invasion. I also must remember to let Morgana know when the 99 cent sales are going on; we may be going to them together.
Sunday I was achy from being on my feet basting from 1pm to 6pm yesterday so I took it easy most of the afternoon. Leofwyna took in the new Die Hard movie. Tonight I was back to the table; this time breaking down a vintage wedding ring quilt top (to the 'melon' shape:) that I want to reconstruct. It has charming fabrics and the tiny wedges I prefer but, oh my, it was poorly pieced at the fine points.
