I'm still in hibernation mode here but we do have a new story for Santa.
Tuesday morning on her way home from work Leofwyna saw a box in the street being knocked about by traffic. Being the curious sort she stopped and got it out of the street and threw it in the back of the van. That evening she brought the box into the house and finding no identification on the outside removed a lot of duct tape to find inside presents with cards for "Ken and Emily Johnsen" and "Mick and Linda".
Now we all know there're lots of Johnsons in the phonebook but fortunately there's only a dozen Johnsens so I thought it possible to make a few phonecalls and find a home for this box. "This may seem a strange call to make but do you know these people." Got it on the fifth phonecall; Don thought Amy might know and could he take my phone number to call back?
Apparently folks had gotten a call to head east to Vermont for a family emergency and entrusted their son to take presents west to Arizona as planned. Son had set one package on car's trunk and forgotten it. Amy was his sister and made contact with me Wednesday to pick up the package so he could finally get on the road.
Son been quite frantic. Dad was going to be terribly upset about two gallons of homemade cherry brandy going missing. It couldn't be quickly nor easily replaced. Gee, if I'd known it was homemade instead of Jim Beam I might have been tempted but this makes a good Santa's helper story, doesn't it?
WEDNESDAY
Was out of the house long enough for my doctor's appointment. The prescriptions are extended another six months then we have to check lipids again. Back at home I got the call from Amy and she stopped by to pick up the package. I started chili for supper and when she woke up Leofwyna made up her cinnamon rolls to go with it. Sash invited me over Christmas but I'm going to work these two weather-y days on my sewing area and prepare for Twelfth Night.
