Jan. 20th, 2009 06:37 pmMONDAY-TUESDAY
Before it occured to me it was a holiday I'd made a list of things to accomplish. Needless to say Bank-Library-Post Office-and-campus computor lab had to be postponed a day.
So Monday I called to have the Buick towed to the shop to have the battery recharged and perhaps an oil change and whatever else might help make it saleable. While trying to run those unsuccessful errands I stopped instead at a couple thrift stores before heading home in time to receive delivery from Murdoch of the wool for his winter cote to be made up in time for Astrella. The other wool we thought to use for lining is instead interlining as it shrank up so much. It will indeed be warm however. So I cut out the cote as well as the yellow/black striped cotton for a pair of pants and an overtunic.
Tuesday I went out again on the errands and accomplished most of them. When I called the auto shop I learned the Buick is dead... meaning battery won't recharge AND engine failure is imminent besides. The Buick is headed to the junkyard as soon as I collect my possessions out of it. Ain't I lucky to already have a replacement; would trade that privelege in for Little Sister without a second thought though. Anyway, here I am in the computor lab checking emails and journal and ready to head home to await Leofwyna's call. She's dropping the van at the shop for some work tonight and I'll pick her up there. I certainly hope the vehicular good news-bad news cycle isn't going to affect her adversely too.
