Summer is officially with us and the high heat, humidity, long lazy days have arrived. So far I have been ignoring my to do list and wallowing in the first couple days of summer. I've located another name in our genealogy that is exciting... Sir Henry Percy, or "Hotspur". What fun!
When TOCD called to bring back Joe's gold key stuff he borrowed for Lilies I was clearing a few things out of the living room and found the bag containing our Sunday shower flotsom from nearly two weeks ago. Phew! I've run that smelly mess through the wash three times with PineSol and at least the odor on these items is now not objectionable.
A low key discussion brought home how profligate we've been the last couple months eating out so much. I think we've both resolved to cook at least once a week with leftovers contributing to other days in the week. Also the garden will be producing soon, another factor to keep in mind. Anyway, today I've got a couple manager's special pork butts in the big crock pot which can be used a variety of ways over the next week. Tonight we're having pork and potato salad before we head out to a movie, for Leofwyna's only day off during this holiday.
