With Leofwyna up and off to work I did a six pm walkaround to check downspouts and read the rain gauge. We've already had two inches of rain... I've made a mental note to clean out the gutter when next the ground dries out enough to hold up the ladder. I'd also like to find some plastic rain barrels; too late to save spring rain this year but it would be good to do this for the garden. Several of the potatoes have put up excellent growth suddenly and the row of peonies have doubled their growth again and are covered in buds. Mmmm, and the lily of the valley is filling the entire yard with fragrance from their little patch by the west sidewalk.

An additional note: In checking the rain guage Sunday, we had a total of three inches rain with the storms Saturday, Saturday night and early Sunday morning. Wow!
