Out for lunch. Whimped out due to the grey and cold and headed straight home after lunch. Leofwyna has decided to skip music tonight; she's feeling weak and sore throat precludes singing anyway. No walk for Bonnie again today. I spent the afternoon and evening with solitaire and ancestry. Leofwyna made calls about the washer and has decided to shop for a different washing machine.

commentstag:dreamwidth.org,2017-01-16:2754365:894829Saturday2023-02-19T06:20:12Z2023-02-19T18:10:58Zpublic0Up at 9:30 to a sunny day. I've been reading Cesar Millan's books and feel Bonnie's benefiting thereby. Hope Leofwyna and I can get our acts synchronized as well. The sun didn't last into the afternoon so no walk. I was downstairs with the sniglets when The One Called Dave came with his brother Joe to deal with the front light, successfully. Leofwyna and I ended up going to China Buffet for supper. Back at home I went downstairs again while Leofwyna spread out upstairs pricing things for a garage sale, hopefully this spring. As it turns out I forgot my evening pills... oops!

commentstag:dreamwidth.org,2017-01-16:2754365:845413Thursday2022-07-08T04:32:23Z2022-07-08T04:32:23Zpublic0Up and lunch, stayed in while Leofwyna headed to her appointment in case the plumber came (for garbage disposer) before she got home and he did arrive early and change it out. I headed out for lunch and library computer time. I got home just in time to say good-bye to her as she headed out to music. When she got home later she barely beat the thunder and lightning storm that burst loudly upon us.

commentstag:dreamwidth.org,2017-01-16:2754365:650183Friday2020-04-18T15:49:30Z2020-04-18T15:49:30Zpublic0Morning computer time and in the afternoon headed out to take the serger in to be fixed. Stopped at HyVee to get sour cream and stocked up some. After supper she beat me in a close game of Canasta. At the sewing table I'm proofing the strips for mountains majesty.

commentstag:dreamwidth.org,2017-01-16:2754365:649826Thursday2020-04-17T04:38:34Z2020-04-17T04:39:27Zpublic0On the computer downstairs all morning, then when Leofwyna got up I went upstairs and did some straightening up before sitting to work on the gaming journals awhile. It started snowing fat flakes early this afternoon, changing to blowing dryer stuff later in the day. We stayed so totally "in" that the mail is still in the mailbox. After supper we played a couple games of badgammon before heading downstairs. The heavy work Leofwyna has been doing on her bags has caused a problem in the serger I can't deal with so it's going to have to go to the shop soon. Now she's working on her uzbecki robe instead. I spent my evening fixing the problem I caused yesterday in some of the mountains majesty blocks so now I can start assembling them.

commentstag:dreamwidth.org,2017-01-16:2754365:616284etienettebluet @ 2019-09-27T02:06:002019-09-27T07:09:20Z2019-09-27T07:09:20Zpublic0Thursday (11) Leofwyna's up and preparing to go with Morgana to Rummmage Across Nebraska. After a slow start I headed out for lunch. Home again I tried to mow the verges but had to give it up to avoid another 'spell'. Windstream was here this afternoon about the problem with the phone, and maybe the computer connection too. No joy so a crew is coming (perhaps tomorrow) to replace the wiring to the house. At the sewing table finished cutting 'boards' then continued with sewing strips together for the Kronberg Poo top.

commentstag:dreamwidth.org,2017-01-16:2754365:606445etienettebluet @ 2019-08-09T11:36:002019-08-09T16:40:39Z2019-08-09T16:40:39Zpublic0Wednesday up and out to take the lawn mower in, then swapped cars and headed to lunch and a couple thrift stores where I passed on a few temptations and headed to the library computers. Social moot was changed to an all barony financial meeting followed by skipping supper with the group at PepperJax. I went to Red Robin instead. It's going to be a long day if i can manage to avoid napping. Did get Biggerstaff called for the stove and He came an hour later (WOW). He didn't think the problem was with the stove though as it hadn't been burning fuel; necessary for carbon monoxide. Putting the grill in the garage has never been a problem before but what else can it be? He'll do some research and call back; meanwhile don't use the oven but okay to use the stovetop, just open a window to be on the safe side. I headed to lunch and library computer time while Leofwyna ran her errands and started loading for her camping trip. We went to Asian Buffet for supper. At the sewing table I'm still stripping frips.

NOTE Two weeks later he finally called. Nothing he can find to indicate anything's wrong with the stove. Suggests opening a window when using the oven. When Leofwyna was up I started the washer with floor towels and headed upstairs to deal with the kitchen before leaving for lunch and library computer time. Leofwyna is doing her suvlaki for her camp meal so we get it for supper tonight also. At the sewing table I worked on the short cloak with Leofwyna's green wool.

Tonight the carbon monoxide alarm went off and we had the fire department in to check. Apparently our stove is faulty again so they turned it's gas off until we can get it repaired.

commentstag:dreamwidth.org,2017-01-16:2754365:526317etienettebluet @ 2018-06-27T10:08:002018-06-27T15:13:23Z2018-12-31T21:01:42Zpublic0Tuesday I went with the RAV and picked up the mower first thing (no charge). When I got home from lunch and library Leofwyna had already gotten it unloaded and was gone so instead of cleaning up the garage I mowed the front and verges. We had arranged for supper and a movie (Jurassic World) with Morganna this evening; I think that series has about run it's course though. Back at home I'm clearing the African village box, negating that planned wallhanging in the process. The 'pattern' for the village women was just too complex to be feasible although I still like my mental image and the pieces that had been cut for it. But just no to that headache.

commentstag:dreamwidth.org,2017-01-16:2754365:523439etienettebluet @ 2018-06-15T01:53:002018-06-15T07:00:09Z2018-06-15T07:00:09Zpublic0Thursday I took the mower back in to be fixed. I headed home a little early to get the lawn mowed but it was almost right away that the power cable went out AGAIN on the mower. I did the front main, south and east verges the old fashioned way... PUSHING. We went to Red Lobster for supper (I wanted pasta). Then lunch 'cause I was hungry and the pretty day was gone to heavy clouds. Rained HARD this afternoon so I got in a couple sessions at the library before heading to FoodNet where I got enough bananas for a couple batches of banana bread, canned pears and peaches, cauliflower, broccoli, 6 eggs, half and half and croissants. Back at home I was surprised to find the lawn had been mowed. Seems a neighbor was concerned if we were okay healthwise and offered up his time. Leofwyna was very pleased to accept 'cause she had been concerned about me struggling with it in the heat. Yay! Tonight I'm diggin' into another basket of stuff, and what a mix it is. A 6-yard piece of blue linen, the rest of my toile curtain material, some cutters, and more.

commentstag:dreamwidth.org,2017-01-16:2754365:515116etienettebluet @ 2018-05-11T01:58:002018-05-11T07:11:08Z2018-05-11T07:11:08Zpublic0Thursday up and out to lunch and genealogy at the library computer. Went home after only two sessions to get the rest of the lawn mowed but as I was nearing completion the power cable snapped and I finished filling the second to the last bag by brute pushing. After I emptied that bag and went to start the mower up it wouldn't catch. I think the pump bulb has sprung a leak so that's two things to deal with. We got the stuff from Saturday unloaded from the RAV and loaded up the mower so I can take it in tomorrow. This evening I finished the second 2017 sniglet top and got the stack all crammed into the box for Kronberg.

commentstag:dreamwidth.org,2017-01-16:2754365:511638etienettebluet @ 2018-04-27T01:38:002018-04-27T06:43:03Z2018-05-03T20:22:56Zpublic0Thursday I was up and dressed before eight, located the new commode in the garage, and cleared up some odds and ends that would have been in the plumber's way. Biggerstaff was in and exchanged the hot water heater (under warrenty?) and gone again by ten. As his schedule for the day was full and the commode change-over was not on his work order that did not happen. I napped for an hour, not particularly restfully however, before heading out to lunch and genealogy at the library computer. I gave up after one session and came home for another nap which was much better. Got up in time to put the beef ribs in the pressure cooker for supper and steam a big sweet potato. Yummy! Down in the sewing area the sniglets are nearly far enough along to start cutting squares.

NOTE: Realized I forgot to put out the mouse-chewed dinette pads.

commentstag:dreamwidth.org,2017-01-16:2754365:511030etienettebluet @ 2018-04-25T01:51:002018-04-25T07:00:27Z2018-04-25T21:58:15Zpublic0Tuesday I was up and out for lunch and genealogy time at the library until time for FoodNet. We got raspberries, potatoes, coconut milk, a bar of dark chocolate, and an angelfood cake. I planned on peach shortcake for supper the the canned peaches for 2017 were ones that siphoned pretty badly and aren't looking very good... nine quarts. We need to find a better method for the next time we do peaches. I heated leftovers for supper and went back to the sniglets. I tried again to start the water heater... and on Wednesday morning one more try, then called Biggerstaff. Sounds like it needs to be replaced.

commentstag:dreamwidth.org,2017-01-16:2754365:510887etienettebluet @ 2018-04-24T13:14:002018-04-24T18:17:29Z2018-04-25T06:51:01Zpublic0Monday I put drumsticks in the crockpot and went to lunch and genealogy at the library computers. I spent the afternoon at the library computer. Jim's visit confirms Volkmar and Owain's guesses. Jim and his crew 'are aging' too and will take a hiatus this year before making further decisions about next year. My impression is that this is good all around with our group too. We will be doing a demo Friday in May for school kids but any participation in the Ren Faire in Bellevue will be individual choice in conjunction with Lonely Tower. Since the group went to Los Marguarita's I 'faded out' to Red Robin and got a nice visit in with Natalya there.

Leofwyna had to call the fire department to come this afternoon when the alarm went off again while she was baking cupcakes. Turns out the carbon monoxide count was pretty high. They opened up the doors and windows to air out the house. Leofwyna put Cassie in the RAV while this was going on. The readings were highest near the stove so we can't use the oven until we've had it checked.

commentstag:dreamwidth.org,2017-01-16:2754365:494404etienettebluet @ 2018-02-09T10:04:002018-02-09T16:09:11Z2018-02-09T16:09:11Zpublic0Thursday, sunny and bright.
